CE Options

 

1st Choice Real Estate School is now offering correspondence continuing education courses that can be taken conveniently via paper/PDF-based format.  NO internet connection required – only access to email. Course materials will be emailed immediately upon purchase of course.  Correspondence courses require a paper final test.  Certificates will be emailed within 48 hours after passing course.

Please note:  The last day to purchase our Correspondence Courses will be Monday, October 26th.  You MUST submit your answers to wecare@1stchoiceschool.com NO LATER than Wednesday, October 28th, in order to receive your certificate and renew your license.  Anything received after October 28th may not be processed by the October 31st deadline. 

1st Choice Real Estate School will upload completions daily for the previous day’s completion.  You will need to wait at least 2-3 days from the date of your last completion to renew online to allow the MREC to refresh their system.  If you want to renew online, you MUST complete your last course by October 28th, otherwise you will have to put your renewal in the mail.

Real Estate Ethics (REQUIRED Course)

Credit: 3 hours

Cost: $25.00

 

In this REQUIRED course, students will review the Code of Ethics, including the Preamble, Articles and Standards of Practice. You will learn how an Ethics complaint is processed and conducted when arbitration comes into play. The material in this course covers the information required by the National Association of REALTORS® for those licensees that need to satisfy their Ethics Training requirement.  The information presented in this course should not be used as a substitute for competent legal advice.

ADA & Fair Housing

Credit: 3 hours

Cost $25.00

This course focuses on the Americans with Disabilities Act and Federal Fair Housing laws. Students will learn about consumer rights and construction requirements under ADA. Students will review fair housing laws including fair housing testing programs and the complaint process.  The information presented in this course should not be used as a substitute for competent legal advice.

Property Hazards

Cost $25.00

Credit: 3 hours

This course covers some of today’s hottest environmental and property hazard issues. Students will review information on mold, including updated information on mold remediation. Students will review required lead-based paint disclosure, testing and hazards. Asbestos, radon, underground storage tanks, and carbon monoxide will be covered, as well as the hazards of methamphetamine, including exposure hazards to persons that enter the property. Students will receive a quick review on the controversial topic of electromagnetic fields. Your role as a real estate agent will be discussed, including ways to protect yourself through the use of property disclosure, professional inspections and contract contingencies. Representation Options in the State of Missouri

Cost $25.00

Credit: 3 hours

This course covers the representation options, also known as agency options, offered to buyers and sellers of real estate in Missouri. Scenarios and role-play are provided to aid in a better understanding of the duties of buyer’s agents, seller’s agents, transaction agents and dual agents. The information presented in this course should not be used as a substitute for competent legal advice.

Missouri Continuing Education Requirements

Each Real Estate licensee who holds an active license shall complete during the two (2)-year license period prior to renewal a minimum of twelve (12) hours of real estate instruction approved for continuing education credit by the Missouri Real Estate Commission.

At least three (3) of the twelve (12) hours of approved instruction shall be taken in a course approved by the Missouri Real Estate Commission as core credit.

 

FOR THE 2020-2022 RENEWAL a 3 hour core course in Real Estate Ethics is REQUIRED.

The balance of the twelve (12) hours of instruction shall consist of courses which have been approved for either core or elective continuing education credit by the Missouri Real Estate Commission.
