This 3-hour course covers topics such as the items needed for applying for a mortgage, credit scoring and how a credit score can affect the loan terms a borrower is applying for, and rights of the borrower under the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Truth-in-Lending Act and Regulation Z. Title insurance, deeds and recording procedures are reviewed and foreclosures are discussed, including ways a borrower can avoid foreclosure and alternatives to foreclosure. Information on the popular short sale is included, as well as a borrower’s rights in the foreclosure process.
